Updated: Sep 6, 2021

HANOVER. OH - Licking Valley High School's scheduled football game for this Friday, September 3rd against the Jackson Ironmen has been canceled due to Covid. There is no word on if additional games in the future weeks will be canceled. No make up game will be scheduled. The Ironmen now will play Tri-Valley. Tri-Valley's game against Zanesville was canceled due to Covid issues on Wednesday by Zanesville.

The Panthers played at London High School last Friday night beating the Red Raiders 20-14 in a thrilling game that came down to the end. Licking Valley's volleyball team also played matches on Saturday and Tuesday without issue. However the Licking Valley girls soccer team was forced to postpone its matches last Thursday and Saturday because of Covid.

Licking Valley was hoping to play this Friday even with the school announcing it has temporarily changing to remote learning. This was done on Tuesday because of a spike in COVID-19 cases that forced 214 students into quarantine. There were only 18 active Covid cases in the school as of mid-Monday. The Ohio Department of Education records that there were 529 students enrolled at Licking Valley High School school during the 2019-2020 year.
